Merienda Talk: Gender and the Rarámuri
The conversation will center the culture of the Rarámuri (also known as the Tarahuma), who are an Indigenous group living in the present-day state of Chihuahua.
Merienda Talks are a free ongoing series at the El Paso Museum of History that explore current exhibits through informal conversation with experts. In Mexico, “merienda” is a mid-afternoon snack, a time to share conversation with friends over a bite to eat. In the spirit of merienda, our talks bring the public and professionals together to discover exhibits through discussion.
“Dualidad: Gender Identity in the American Southwest and Mexico” opened March 2024 and will be closing Sunday, June 8th, 2025.
