Laura Carney, writer and magazine copyeditor, and debut author Karen DeBonis will hold a book talk Saturday, Nov. 18, at 2 p.m. at the Scarsdale library. DeBonis, author of “Growth: A Mother, Her Son and the Brain Tumor They Survived,” and Carney, author of “My Father's List: How Living My Dad's Dream Set Me Free” will discuss writing a memoir and how it can become or change your life’s purpose.
DeBonis writes about motherhood, people-pleasing and personal growth, inspired by the experience of raising her son, Matthew. Her work has appeared in The New York Times, HuffPost, Newsweek.com and literary journals. Carney has been published in The Washington Post, the Associated Press, Good Housekeeping and other publications.
