"Meet Beau Dick: Maker of Monsters" is a feature-length documentary about Kwakwaka’wakw Hereditary Chief, activist, and master carver Beau Dick. His remarkable masks have been celebrated across the global art scene—as vibrant expressions of West Coast Indigenous culture, sophisticated objects of contemporary art, and the focal point of the Frye’s exhibition "Insatiable Beings."
Following the screening, join a conversation with his daughter, matriarch Geraldine Dick—featured in the film—alongside director LaTiesha Fazakas and Frye curator Georgia Erger, as they reflect on the profound impact Dick made on his community and the art world at large.
