MEA DUKE: DREAMLINERS Solo Exhibition
Jessica Hagen Fine Art + Design is pleased to announce the opening of MEA DUKE: DREAMLINERS on Saturday August 1, 2026, from 5:00- 7:00pm. This solo exhibition marks Mea Duke’s third solo show with Jessica Hagen’s gallery. Dreamliners assembles objects and images from the mid-twentieth century moment when progress felt most like destiny: Pan Am flying boats, LIFE magazines, lifejackets, sunblock, straw hats, shipping containers, endless horizons. Together they form an archive of optimism, sleek engineering, and the promise that the world was suddenly, thrillingly within reach. The title borrows from Boeing's Dreamliner, an aircraft whose name still trades on the same aspirational language the Pan Am era perfected. Duke's practice has long lived in the space between painting an object and treating the painting itself as an object, an artifact with its own weight, materiality, and history. Jessica Hagen states, “Dreamliners is a smart, fun and beautifully executed show. Mea Duke is a highly skilled painter and she is very clearly on top of her game; treating us to paintings that are in her words, created slowly by hand, with clean deliberate precision. Replete with iconic objects and imagery rendered as only Duke can, this show is not to be missed.”

Jessica Hagen Fine Art + Design was founded in 2005 and features contemporary art including painting, sculpture, photography, ceramics, textiles, and jewelry. Located in the historic Point section of Newport, the gallery’s hours are Wednesday- Saturday 11:00- 5:00 and Sunday 12:00- 5:00. The gallery is also open by appointment.
