Maumee Glow 5K Run/Walk To Support Seniors

Come enjoy our Glow event at Maumee High School on a flat and fast course. Awards given to both Male/Female Overall, Master (40+) and Grand Masters (50+) in the race. Every participant in the race or walk receives a free Chick-fil-A coupon (while supplies last). Bring along your friends and family to participate and enjoy the summer evening in Maumee! Race day registration opens at 6:30 p.m. July 10, 2026 with games for children before the run/walk. Be sure to wear your best festive and illuminated attire for the Most Illuminated Costume Contest! Following the awards ceremony, be sure to stick around for games, prizes and a pizza party! Every dollar of the proceeds goes to support the Maumee Senior Center's programs and services for seniors. RACE/WALK LOCATION: Maumee High School, 1147 Saco Street, Maumee, OH COURSE: Start and finish at the high school with one water stop on the 5K course. Course is accurately measured. AWARDS:  Male/Female Overall, Master (40+), & Grand Masters (50+) in the 5K race. The walk is non-competitive.  Age group awards (at least three deep) in the 5K race. No duplication of awards.  Male/Female: 9 & under, 10-14, 15–19, 20–24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70- 74, 75–79, 80 & older  Every participant receives a free Chick-fil-A coupon (while supplies last) SHIRTS, REFRESHMENTS, and OTHER INFO:  All preregistered participants will receive a T-shirt. There will be free games for children, prizes, free glow in the dark temporary tattoos and glow necklaces, even pizza – all while supplies last,” said Malinda Ruble, Executive Director of the Maumee Senior Center. “We think this will be a lot of fun. Games will take place before and after the race.” “Last year was our first year of hosting the race at night. It was extremely hot for everyone. So this year, the race doesn’t kick off until 7:30 p.m. after the afternoon heat begins to decrease. Plus, we are so fortunate that the Maumee Fire Department will be providing a cooling station to cool down participants as they complete the run/walk,” Ruble said. “This is a great opportunity for the Maumee Senior Center to do something fun for the community and at the same time the proceeds benefit Maumee Senior Center programs,” Ruble said. “It’s an inexpensive way to help seniors, get exercise and have fun all at the same time.”
