Make a craft with the assistance of local high school students. Visit with Santa. Photos with Santa for a donation. The storefronts are available 24/7; however, it is especially beautiful at night. This is an impressive event for all to see as volunteers have carried on this local tradition of decorating for the Southwest Florida Community. With support from the CRA, this event is free for everyone. There is a “storybook themed” art exhibit at Sidney & Berne Davis Art Center foyer that features local high school artists. This is also a great way to inspire our youth to continue their craft as they juggle the difficulty of high school and move on to college. Fort Myers Woman’s Community Club was founded in 1927. The objectives of the Club are to meet for mutual improvement and social entertainment; to promote a better understanding among its members; and to advance the civic welfare of the City of Fort Myers. Learn more about the club at fmwcc.net.
There are storybooks on display with the various foyer and lobby. Those books will be donated to BelieveNBooks. Books will be donated to BelieveNBooks.org. Founder Natasha Agarwal is excited to partner with this holiday project.
BelieveNBooks, Inc. is a youth-led non-profit organization with the mission of providing children with new & gently used books to expand their horizons and enhance their understanding of the world. Since we started, we have run over one hundred books drives collecting new & gently used books. They have donated over 125,000 books to 25,000 underserved children across 11 chapters. Their digital learning library program, PAGETURNER, has been distributed to over 1000 kids and the demand to participate in this program is high. They continue to add initiatives such as reading programs and free library boxes and are expanding faster than they could have imagined.
