Make a Needle Felted Gnome
The Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minutemen Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach is hosting “Make a Needle Felted Gnome” with Glaucia Romano on Saturday December 2, from 6 to 8 pm. Learn the basics of felting as you create a whimsical three dimensional gnome. Perfect for the holidays!
Felting is an ancient technique to create a non-woven textile made of wool or animal fur. There are different ways to create felt: one is with soap and water, and another is with a felting needle. Regardless of the process, the action of felting binds fibers together creating a permanent bond, and making the felting process irreversible. If you have never tried needle-felting, it can be quite a calming, enjoyable, and meditative process despite its repetitive motions. In this two-hour class where we will explore and experiment with needle felting to create a holiday gnome.
