Love The Ave "Sabor y Ritmo" Community Block Party
Some people think summer ends after Labor Day. In fact, September is the best time for locals to get together and celebrate their community. That’s why we’re hosting a block party! On Acushnet Avenue, no less!
On Saturday, September 14 from 5-8:00 p.m., Acushnet Ave in New Bedford will be closed to traffic but open to people from Nye Street to Bullard Street - in front of the magnificent St. Anthony of Padua Church - for the FREE Love The Ave Sabor y Ritmo Community Block Party.
Food, music, dance and more will fill the spaces along the block including the Nye Street Pocket Park, the municipal parking lot at the corner of Bullard Street, and the inspiring plateau in front of St. Anthony of Padua church itself. And we’re especially pleased to share that Love The Ave Sabor y Ritmo will be hosting 3rd Eye Unlimited for a special performance of their Five Pillars of Hip Hop series!
So come on down on Saturday, Sept. 14 beginning at 5:00 p.m. and celebrate National Hispanic Heritage Month as a community with authentic Acushnet Avenue food, sounds, and culture - right on the street!
