Locked Achievements Is Coming to Little Village Library!
Stomping Grounds Literary Arts Initiative's very first youth exhibition, Locked Achievements, is moving into a new residency at the Little Village Branch of the Chicago Public Library.
This powerful exhibition showcases the creative work of young people facing incarceration, and we can’t wait for you to experience it.
On Saturday, September 13 we'll have the gallery opening reception. Enjoy refreshments, student performances, and get a first look at the deeply moving art and poetry created by our youth.
🎤 On Thursday, September 25 from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM, we'll be having an Open Mic + Creative Writing Workshop featuring the dynamic Linda Sol — a poet-turned-hip-hop artist from Chicago’s West Side known for her genre-fluid sound, intricate flows, and powerful storytelling. She’s opened for acts like 2 Chainz, Jamila Woods, Glorilla, Omar Apollo, and Phoebe Bridgers, and continues to elevate her craft as a performer and creative director.
