Local Photographer Launches “Simply Me” Gallery Event to Celebrate Childhood and Support Central Tex
Local boutique photographer Lara Falardeau, owner of Clicked by Lara Photography, is proud to announce the inaugural Simply Me Gallery Event, a red-carpet celebration of childhood and community. The event will take place on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Sophienburg Museum.
The Simply Me project was created to celebrate children exactly as they are right now—capturing their unique personalities, confidence and joy through timeless black-and-white portraiture. To increase the impact of this mission, Falardeau partnered with two other local photographers to photograph children from across the Hill Country.
“Every child deserves to feel seen, valued and celebrated,” says Falardeau. “Simply Me is about more than just a photograph; it’s about creating a core memory for these children and their families while providing critical support to those who serve the most vulnerable members of our community.”
The project serves as a significant fundraiser for three Central Texas foster care organizations: CASA of Central Texas, iHope for Kids and SJRC Texas. All session fees from the project, along with proceeds from the event’s silent auction, will be donated directly to these nonprofits.
The community is invited to attend the gallery event, which will feature:
A Fine Art Portrait Gallery: Large-scale displays of the children’s portraits.
Red Carpet Experience: A "paparazzi" welcome for the participating children.
Live Entertainment: Performances by local youth organizations, including the School of Classical Ballet and Dance.
Silent Auction: Featuring items from beloved local partners like Myron’s Prime Steakhouse, New Braunfels Orthodontic Associates and Water Babies.
Community Celebration: Food trucks, family fun and official check presentations to the beneficiary charities.
“We have been overwhelmed by the support from New Braunfels businesses,” Falardeau added. “It truly shows that when we come together, we can build a stronger future for our children, one child at a time.”
