his book is a deeply moving and inspiring account of love, perseverance, and faith. Peter functioned as his wife’s soulmate for forty-five years, and as her caregiver for thirty of those years. Although always an avid reader and writer, his path took him in a different direction, and throughout his forty-year business career, he rose to become a senior executive in the information technology industry. Peter Cahill was born and raised in Quincy, Massachusetts, the oldest of eleven children. A graduate of North Quincy High School (Class of 1972) and Bridgewater State University (B.A. in English/History). Peter was one of the original members of Atlantic Data Services (ADS) in 1980. Serving for thirty years as Executive Vice President of Operations, he helped grow the company from a single client into a $65 million publicly traded firm listed on NASDAQ, providing technology and consulting services to major financial institutions worldwide. He retired in 2013 as a highly respected senior financial services executive. In 1979, Peter married Andrea Marie Pirani. Together they raised two children and were blessed with five grandchildren. In 2004, Peter co-founded the Andrea Cahill Foundation to support Neurofibromatosis 2 (NF2) research at Massachusetts General Hospital. To date, the Foundation has raised over $600,000. Peter continued leading fundraising efforts while serving as Andrea’s devoted caregiver until her passing in 2022. In 2025, he published Silent Determination, chronicling Andrea’s remarkable journey. One hundred percent of the book’s proceeds support the Foundation. Peter resides in Estero, Florida, and spends summers in Falmouth, Cape Cod.
