It will host its 6th Annual Live4Lane Memorial 5K Walk on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Cascades Community Center and Lowes Island Community in Sterling, Virginia in honor of Lane Burrows, a young soul of the community tragically lost to suicide in 2019.
The event features a family-friendly and dog-friendly 2.5k/5k course, welcoming community members of all ages. Attendees can also enjoy local vendors, community resource tables, a raffle, and silent auction. Sterling EMS and Orangetheory Fitness will join the event, creating a space where families can connect, honor loved ones, and support mental health awareness.
Proceeds from the walk benefit the Dominion High School Mental Health Advocate Scholarship, awarded annually to a senior who demonstrates leadership in mental health advocacy and wellness. Since its founding, The Live4Lane Foundation has awarded over $29,500 in academic scholarships, helping young advocates pursue higher education while promoting mental wellness.
“Our mission is to honor Lane’s memory by building connections, supporting families, and breaking the stigma around mental health,” said Maranda Heil, Founder of The Live4Lane Foundation. “This walk is about coming together as a community to support our youth and remind them they are never alone.”
