Sr. Barbara Schlatter has been a nun for more than 60 years and has taught in high schools, prisons, and juvenile facilities for much of that time. She has won first and third prize and three honorable mentions in the Wednesday Club Poetry Contest. In workshops, she loves using published poets’ work and having students model their own poems on the format and/or topic of the original poems. Sr. Barbara continues to write in a daily prayer journal.
Katherine Gordon’s work has appeared in publications in the US and UK including, most recently, in Think, Arkansas Review, Beloit Poetry Journal, and About Place. She has degrees in English, Creative Writing, and Scottish Literature. A keen gardener, she raises heirloom vegetables (voluntarily) and rabbits (involuntarily).
Katherine Mitchell’s poems and essays appear in journals such as 2River View, The Southern Review and The Louisville Review. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of Missouri—St. Louis. An Alexander Technique teacher by profession, Katherine teaches movement for writers workshops across the country.
