Lindner Center of Hope Community Education Day
This year Ross Ellenhorn, PhD, LICSW, founder and CEO of Ellenhorn, will deliver the keynote address, “No Hope Without Fear, No Fear Without Hope: How Fear of Hope Influences Our Lives.” The presentation will explore the often-overlooked concept that individuals may resist pursuing hope because of the emotional risks associated with change. His work offers insight into how understanding this dynamic can help individuals move beyond avoidance and toward meaningful progress.
Following the keynote, attendees may choose from a variety of breakout sessions across three learning blocks. Topics include:
• A whole-person approach to diagnosis and treatment
• Practical self-care strategies for adolescents
• The intersection of suicide prevention and artificial intelligence
• Recovery and long-term wellness strategies
• And more
A community resource center will be open throughout the event, connecting attendees with local organizations and support services.
The City of Mason has been a cornerstone partner of Community Education Day since its inception in 2015. It serves as the flagship event within Mason’s broader, month-long Mental Health Awareness Month initiative intended to highlight innovation and collaboration across the Mason Biohub. Community Education Day is a trusted regional forum for education, dialogue, and a call to action for advancing critical mental healthcare research and solutions. In partnership with pacesetters like the Lindner Center of Hope, it reflects Mason’s commitment to building a culture of wellness and reinforces its reputation as a hub for science-driven innovation, life sciences leadership, and meaningful community engagement.
