At this fascinating lecture hosted by the College of Physicians, home of the Matter Museum, discover how America's favorite president lead the country through a period of intense struggles, while dealing with internal struggles of his own.
Abraham Lincoln battled depression in a time well before anti-depressants and modern therapy were available. Allan B Schwartz, MD, will highlight how Lincoln's personal tragedies affected relationships with military leaders during a time of war, as well as the connections between slavery, secession, the Civil War, and Lincoln's Assassination.
This lecture is made possible by a generous donation from the family of former Fellow Bernard Behrend. The lecture complements the Matter Museum's permanent Exhibition on Injury, Death and Healing in the Civil War.
