The windows of Heinz Chapel are amongst the most outstanding examples of stained glass created in the twentieth century. Made in the late 1930s, all are the work of Charles J. Connick (1875-1945) and his Boston studio. This illustrated lecture will focus on the Chapel’s windows in the context of Connick’s richly prolific career.
This event features Peter Cormack M.B.E., F.S.A. who is the former curator of William Morris Gallery, London, a Vice-President of the British Society of Master Glass-Painters and a noted scholar of 19th- and 20th-century stained glass. He is the author of Arts & Crafts Stained Glass and the newly-published book Charles J. Connick, America’s Visionary Stained Glass Artist.
