Legendary peacemaker and singer Reggie Harris -- Concert and Book Event
Reggie Harris has traveled the country for four decades, carrying his message of joy, unity, tolerance, and peace. His music focuses on issues of inclusion and human rights, drawing from the lessons of our shared history, including the Underground Railroad and the civil rights movement.
In addition to concerts, he presents performances, workshops, and classes in schools worldwide, often as a teaching artist in the John F. Kennedy Center’s Partners in Education program. He is the co-president and Director of Music Education for the Living Legacy Project, which presents online seminars and civil rights pilgrimages.
His latest album, “On Solid Ground,” is a response to current events including the COVID pandemic and the racial unrest following the death of George Floyd. He has been awarded the W.E.B. Du Bois Legacy Award and the Spirit of Folk Award.
He describes his unforgettable life and his approach to bridge-building and hope in his new memoir, "Searching for Solid Ground," which he will sign at the concert.
