The Shops at Legacy North in Plano hosting “Legacy North Goes Red,” a charity concert benefiting the American Heart Association on Thursday, March 9, from 6 – 9 p.m. Sponsored by TotalCare ER, the free event will take place on the pedestrian-only Lone Star Drive, creating a block party atmosphere.
The concert will feature live music from Dallas-based Even It Up Band, one of the nation's top heart cover bands, who will perform chart-toppers from the 1970s and 1980s. The event takes place on National Wear Red Day, a day dedicated to raising awareness of cardiovascular disease. All concertgoers are encouraged to wear red to show their support, and the best dressed will win a $100 gift card. In addition, attendees will be able to get free CPR training on glow-in-the-dark dummies with American Heart Association representatives, and purchase $5 raffle tickets to win prizes, 100% of which will benefit the American Heart Association.
“Legacy North Goes Red” is the official kick-off to a three-month fundraising campaign hosted by CTO Realty Growth and The Shops at Legacy North. The goal is to raise $10,000 to support “Go Red For Women,” a campaign founded by the American Heart Association dedicated to improving the heart health of women in local communities. Since 2004, the campaign has grown into a movement that focuses on providing opportunities and resources for women to take charge of their health.
“We are pleased and honored to support such a significant cause that affects so many people in our local community," said Sierra Tuthill, marketing director of The Shops at Legacy North. "We’re hosting this event to raise awareness of cardiovascular health and hope to make a sizeable contribution to the American Heart Association that makes a lasting impact in our community.”
Concertgoers will also have an opportunity to win free HOCATT and DermaShape treatments valued at $350, courtesy of The Ozone Bar, a luxury medical spa located within The Shops at Legacy North development. DermaShape utilizes heat and suction to break up fascia and lactic acid while improving circulation for a healthy lymphatic system, while the HOCATT sauna improves cardiovascular functions and reduces inflammation.
“Get ready to sweat your way toward a healthier heart,” Laura Harbison, owner of The Ozone Bar. “By jumping into a sauna four days a week for just 20 minutes, it reduces chances of heart attack or stroke by 48%. Saunas work wonders for cardiovascular health, which is why we're teaming up with The Shops at Legacy North to improve the well-being of the women in the Plano community. We hope everyone will enter to win this healthful prize.”
