Lectures with Road Scholar: The Secret Life of Plankton

Join us on Wednesday, Nov. 12 at 1 p.m. to enjoy the viewing of a lecture about plankton. From tiny glowing creatures to giant sunfish, plankton come in all shapes and sizes — and they’re found in every ocean, from the Arctic to the Antarctic. Join marine biologist and polar expedition guide Amanda Hunter for an intriguing look at the surprising world of the ocean’s drifting life forms. In this lecture, you’ll learn how these incredible organisms help produce the air we breathe, support some of the largest creatures on our planet and even play an integral role in regulating Earth’s climate. Discover the hidden world of plankton, teeming with life and wonder beneath the waves. Registration is required and limited to 35. Please register at tinyurl.com/secret-plankton. Can't attend in person? Please register for the program or join the Wait List. Everyone who is registered will be sent the recording. Maeve Hartney, Chief Program Officer of Massachusetts Road Scholar Programs, will lead a viewing of the online lecture at Abbot Public Library, followed by a discussion session.
