League of Women Voters of Lee County - The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact
Did you know that the United States President and the Vice President of the United States are the only two federally elected positions NOT elected by popular vote? The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact would eliminate the "winner take all" practice prevalent in most states. This legislation works within the framework of the United States Constitution. The National Popular Vote Interstate Compact would remedy the pitfalls of the Electoral College without the need for a constitutional amendment.
