Lambertville IOOF Lodge # 467 Walk to End Alzheimer's

Walk to End Alzheimer's Alzheimer's Disease is the most common type of dementia involving parts of the brain that controls thought, memory and language. It can seriously affect a person's ability to carry out daily activities. According to the Center of Disease Control & Prevention (CDC), in 2010, as many as 5.8 million Americans were living with Alzheimer's Disease and this number was projected to nearly triple to 14 million people by 2060. The number of people living with the disease double every five years beyond the age of 65. The Lambertville Independent Order of Odd Fellows Lodge #467 and the Eva Rebekah Lodge #299 will be sponsoring a "Walk to End Alzheimer's" on Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 1 - 4 p.m. at Stoneco Park, located at 7100 Whiteford Rd., Ottawa Lake (corner of Sterns and Whiteford Rd). The lodges will walk under the team name "Krumm's Krusaders" in honor of their long-time member Fred Krumm who cared for his wife, Dorothy, an Eva Rebekah member, as she succumbed to Alzheimer's during the last 15 years of her life. After her passing, Fred continued the fight by supporting the Alzheimer's Association and serving as a team captain for the Walk. With the prevalence of Alzheimer's many people know at least one person or more afflicted with this disease. Join the Krumm's Krusaders' event on September 15th. Come out to walk at the Stoneco Park or just stop by to make a donation to help fight Alzheimer's Disease
