Know Before You Vote–Understanding the 2025 CPS Renewal Levy & How Schools are Funded in Ohio
Cincinnati Public School has a $48 million renewal on November's ballot. Voters may have such questions as: What does the levy cover? What happens if it fails? How does Ohio fund it public schools? Why do we need local levies (property taxes)? What has the Preschool Promise program accomplished?
To address these questions, a panel of school and community leaders will address these and other topics: Shauna Murphy, CPS Superintendent; Chara Jackson, CEO, Preschool Promise; Senator Louis Blessing, Ohio district 8; and Emily Chesnut, Milford school board member and representative of Honesty for Ohio Education. Zack Carreon, Education Report, WVXU, will moderate.
This program should of interest in all Cincinnati voters, businesses who hire graduates of CPS, and residents with children.
