Spooky season is have and so are community movie nights at Shutter and Strum! Join us in venturing outside the classic slasher. These films don’t sit neatly within horror, and unlike most of the genre, hinge on complex representation of feminine characters.
Is it a ghost story or an intimate look at grief during war? A monster movie or an Iranian Western? Psychological suspense or an allegory for gender dysphoria?
Join us on October 13th, October 24th, and November 5th at 7PM to watch When the Tenth Month Comes (1984), A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014), and I Saw The TV Glow (2024). All welcome. $5 suggested donation. Snacks provided.
