This exhibition is part of Allen Street Art and 42 North’s ongoing collaborative effort to enrich Buffalo’s community through the arts.
Karen JS Tashjian creates large-scale oil paintings that have been inspired by her architectural background. Throughout the years, Tashjian has delved further into her painting process and consequently, further into abstraction. The exhibition at 42 North will take a dive into some of her works completed over the past ten years.
Karen Tashjian has exhibited all over Western New York over the last two decades, including a recent show at the Burchfield Penney Art Center. The artist received a BS in Design, Fine Arts, and Architecture, and a Bachelors of.Architecture from Cornell University. Tashjian is currently licensed in New York State. She has practiced architecture, and taught Architectural Design Studio at the University of Buffalo for 18 years.
Tashjian’s work will be on view at 674 Main Street September 12th through October 19th.
An opening reception will be held on September 18th 7-9pm with the artist in attendance
