Come and be a part of our free, groundbreaking EPA Environmental Justice Thriving Communities Technical Assistance Center (EJ TCTAC) launch event, where we aim to provide invaluable resources to communities. This center will empower communities to enhance their capabilities, discover effective solutions, receive essential training, and foster strong collaborative efforts to address environmental injustices. Learn how to use historic Biden-Harris funds to transform our underserved places into thriving communities. Thursday, February 1, 2024: 8:00AM - 4:30PM Friday, February 2, 2024: 8:00AM - 8:30PM (Evening celebration begins at 5:30PM)) Saturday. February 3, 2024: 10:30AM - 2:30PM (Tours Only) We have an incredible line-up of activities planned for the event, including: PRESENTATIONS from the EPA, Department of Energy, and BIG Partners NETWORKING with technical experts, funding agencies, and like-minded individuals and organizations EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES at the Learning Labyrinth - follow the green brick road and learn about justice opportunities and threats around every bend TCTAC ONE-ON-ONE CONSULTATION SESSIONS to initiate the technical assistance service delivery process of state and federal resources WORKSHOPS on West Woodlawn's Sustainable Square Mile pilot and Department of Energy resources ENTERTAINMENT by Bronzeville the Musical, and more! GREAT MIGRATION HERITAGE TOURS of Chicago's South Side, West Side & BIG's Sustainable Square Mile DISCO DANCE PARTY to celebrate our shared vision of achieving environmental justice and building thriving communities! Event partners include: School of Public Health (SPH) - University of Illinois, Chicago Environmental Health Watch (EHW) Black Environmental Leaders Association (BEL) Smart Energy Design Assistance Center (SEDAC) - University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Midwest Tribal Energy Resources Association (MTERA) The Blacks in Green Environmental Justice TCTAC is funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as part of the Biden-Harris Administration's Investing in America Agenda.
