Juneteenth Day of Jazz with Roc 6.19
Join us for a day-long jazz event on the first day of June.
The Roc 6.19 organization (Roc Juneteenth) will host back-to-back performances from 1 pm to 8 pm June 1, at the Highland Bowl in Highland Park. The Reggie Woods Trio, led by the noted saxophonist and composer Reggie Woods, will headline the event. You will also hear performances by Serena Young, a gospel singer and “Sunday Best” finalist; Herb Smith, Rochester jazz and classical trumpeter; Ryan Johnson, a musician and composer, with Ryan Johnson and Company; and more.
Tickets are free of charge but event-goers must obtain tickets through Eventbrite. Donations are appreciated and will be split between two local 501(c) (3) organizations: the Minister Franklin D. Florence Civil Rights Heritage Park, now undergoing public hearings for input; and Agape Haven of Abundance, a program for City of Rochester children in some of the most vulnerable neighborhoods.
