Juneteenth at UREC
The Underground Railroad Education Center (UREC) is thrilled to announce its annual Juneteenth Celebration, taking place on June 15, 2024, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM. This year’s event promises a rich array of activities and performances to honor and remember the significance of Juneteenth.

- Music Performances: Experience the powerful performances of Nick Payton - The BLK Ambition and the soulful melodies of Cameroonian Singers.
- Poetry Readings: Read by YALI (UREC teen program), be inspired by thought-provoking poetry celebrating freedom and resilience.
- Myers Residence Tours: Take a tour of the historic Myers Residence, the home of Stephen and Harriet Myers, who helped Freedom Seekers in their journey to freedom.
