The International Symposium on Korean Photography is co-organized by the Center for Creative Photography (CCP) and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Korea, (MMCA) in collaboration with the School of Art, University of Arizona.
Held at CCP, the symposium focuses on the state of contemporary Korean photography and is hosted in conjunction with the opening of a major exhibition, Wonders and Witness: Contemporary Photography from Korea, co-organized by CCP and MMCA.
DAY 1 of the symposium includes two panel discussions and a roundtable with various esteemed speakers, including Dr. Park Pyungjong, Professor, Chung-Ang University, Seoul, South Korea; Dr. Kim Youngmin, Professor, Seoul National University, Seoul, South Korea; Zhao Yechen, Ph.D., Assistant Curator of Photography, Art Institute of Chicago; Linde Lehtinen, Ph.D., Curator of Photography, Huntington Library; Dr. Kim Jeehey, Assistant Professor, University of Arizona; and Kim Namin, Curator, MMCA, Korea.
DAY 2 features a highly anticipated panel discussion at 1:00 pm with photographers featured in Wonders and Witness. Speakers include Kim Oksun, Gwon Doyeon, Oh Heinkuhn, and Yoon JeongMee.
