International Jazz Day Concert with Chris DeVito Trio at the Watchung Arts Center
Join us as we celebrate “International Jazz Day , Wednesday, April 30th with live jazz featuring John Lenis (double bass), Gavin Davies (drums), Chris DeVito (piano) and special guest Mayuko Abe (trumpet).

Concert starts at 7:00 pm and includes an open jam session at 8:00 pm featuring jazz students from local universities as well as veteran jazz artists from the NYC metropolitan area.

This concert will include an open jam session featuring Mayuko Abe and other students from William Paterson University, Rutgers Mason Gross School of Music and other local schools beginning at 8:30pm. Mayuko is a visiting jazz artist from Japan who is earning her graduate degree at William Paterson College. It is fitting that this rising star jazz artist is joining us on April 30th, which has been designated by UNESCO as International Jazz Day and the final day of April, designated as “Jazz Appreciation Month”, or “JAM” by the Smithsonian Institute.
