As part of Independence House's commitment to social justice and ensuring inclusivity and culturally informed programs and services for all Cape residents, the agency is presenting the 4th annual International Festival as an extension of outreach to the general public and the cultural and underserved communities on Cape Cod.
The International Festival will take place at the Village Green Bandstand in Hyannis (367 Main St.) from 11:00am until 7:00pm on Sunday, July 24, 2022 (rain date July 31). Admission is FREE to all.
Attendees of the festival will be able to learn and take away information about immigrant-friendly organizations and resources that are available on Cape Cod and also extend over the bridge. This family-friendly event will also embrace the music, food and art of many cultures. The International Festival's goal is to ensure that all communities on Cape Cod are recognized and offered opportunities to enhance their livelihoods.
Over 30 non-profit organizations have signed up to represent their respective agencies as well as vendors from 8 companies offering cultural food and goods for purchase at the festival. Entertainment will be provided throughout the day from bands and groups representing Jamaican music, Judaic music, Jazz, Soul, Afrobeats, Groove and Hip-Hop, Dance and Spoken Words. Games and activities will also be offered throughout the day.
The event is supported by sponsorships from Cape Cod Five, Bridges Associates, Inc., Mayra's Services, American Tile and Stone Design, Solstice Day Spa, TBS Tax Services, Mayflour Bakery, and through a mini-tourist grant from the Town of Barnstable.
