What might Islamic design mean today, beyond arches, domes, and patterns?
Join us for a five-week seminar that explores Islamic design as the practice of arranging space with intention (niyyah). Rooted in sincerity, presence, and remembrance (dhikr), the course invites us to rethink rooms, thresholds, light, sound, and atmosphere as spaces of contemplation and care, oriented toward the Divine.
Week by week, we will explore orientation and direction, thresholds and passages, light and ornament, unseen atmospheres, and Qur’anic ways of seeing.
Facilitated by Resident Scholar, Dr. Razieh Ghorbani
