Ignite Your Light - A Community Hanukkah Celebration (ALL ARE WELCOME)
How are the Maccabean warriors relevant to you today? How can their story inspire you as a believer of God and a follower of Messiah? When you first begin to read about them, you find yourself immediately relating to their plight. There is an uncanny resemblance between these Jewish men and ourselves. We at Founded in Truth Fellowship certainly had an intense reaction in that way when we read about their story for the first time. And it wasn't just us; this was the case for all the Yeshua followers we talked to who learned about their history for the first time either through Jewish day school or Yeshiva. In a world of chaos and confusion, when many are fearful and feel pain, some stand as a light. The Maccabean warriors left an example for us to follow: no matter the cost, it is always worth standing up in the face of evil, even if only to say 'no.'
