"I Love my Library!" Month Activities at Oak Creek Public Library

It's "I Love My Library Month!" Visit Oak Creek Public Library this February to participate in the celebration. We have ongoing activities, sales, contests, and swag giveaways galore in the Library Lobby. Book Nook Sale The Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library are hosting a month-long sale at the Book Nook February 1st - March 4th. All items (except those that are specially marked) cost only $0.50 each. Why not buy your loved ones something to read, watch, or listen to? You can't beat that price! Fine Forgiveness Let us show our appreciation by forgiving some fines! Our Food for Fines program runs February 6th - March 4th. This promotion applies to Oak Creek Library overdue fines ONLY. Please note that we can only waive overdue fines; replacement item and manual charges will not be waived. Each food item counts towards $1 in fines and will go to a local food pantry. Food must be at least 6 months from expiring. We also only accept human food; no cat or dog food will be accepted at this time. Paper Hearts Tell us why you <3 the library! Write a message on one of the provided hearts then spread the love by sticking it to the train for everyone to see. Photo Props Write your reason for loving the library on one of our dry-erase speech bubbles, use it as a photo prop, and snap a pic to post on social media. Tag it with #ILoveOCLibrary and we'll share it on our socials (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) to let the world know how much you care! Swag Help yourself to a seasonal button or mini magnet that will let you show off your library love with pride. "Count the Kisses" Contest Guess how many Kisses are in the jar. You can write your guess on an entry form and put it in the "Special Delivery" mailbox. The closest guess will win the jar of chocolates and a book journal! Four runners up will also win a prize. Good luck! Postcards to Support your Library Use your voice to let your elected official know that you support the library...and hope they do, too! We're providing postcards that you can fill out with reasons about why you love the library. We encourage you to address these postcards to your elected official of choice (a list of politicians and their addresses is available). Finally, leave your postcard with staff at the 1st floor Service Desk, and we will cover the postage + send them in the mail on your behalf.
