Join us for a special evening celebrating the hymns of Dr. David W. Rogner, distinguished professor of English at Concordia University Chicago, who will retire in June after 40 years at the university. Dr. Rogner's hymns appear in Lutheran Service Book and in numerous choral publications. Many have been written for various occasions, including Concordia-Chicago's university hymn, “O God Our Father, Source and Destination.”
This hymn festivals features performances by Concordia-Chicago's Kapelle and the choirs of Grace Lutheran Church and First St. Paul's Lutheran Church. It's part of the Vi Messerli Memorial Lectures in Church Music conference, and will occur at Grace Lutheran Church, 7300 Division Street, River Forest, adjacent to the Concordia campus. The event is free and open to the public and parking is available in the campus parking facility.
