HVCC hosts annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Lecture to celebrate Black History Month

Rosalyn Elder's talk, "Reclaiming Malcolm X," revisits Malcolm X's legacy in a contemporary context to explore his journey from a life of crime and incarceration to becoming one of the most influential leaders of the Civil Rights Movement. It is a powerful story of transformation, resilience and empowerment. The process of reclaiming Malcolm X’s legacy brings forth his teachings in ways that resonate with modern struggles, particularly those surrounding race, justice and identity. Elder is a registered architect with a passion for the arts, architecture and cities, and history. She is the founder of African American Heritage in Massachusetts, a resource for educators and others interested in Black history. This event is co-sponsored by the Marvin Library, Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and Student Activities.
