NASA's Endeavour Space Shuttle orbiter, attached to two solid rocket boosters and an external fuel tank, will be on display once the Oschin Air and Space Center of the California Science Center opens to the public. The Space Shuttle stack is over 200 feet tall. The Endeavour completed 25 missions in space, including the first mission to service the Hubble Space Telescope. Following the close of the Space Shuttle program, NASA transferred the Endeavour to the California Science Center in 2012. The orbiter has been viewed by over 20 million visitors from 2012 to December 2023. In 2024, it was relocated to the site of the Museum's Oschin Air and Space Center, which is now being built around the Shuttle stack. Bradley Tsalyuk is an Exhibit Developer at the California Science Center. He will talk about assembling, moving, and installing the Space Shuttle stack. The program is co-sponsored by the St. Louis Astronomical Society and the NASA Missouri Space Grant Consortium at Washington University. Free parking in yellow zones and University garages. Also available via Zoom. Send e-mail to [email protected] to get Zoom link.
