HOLODOMOR REMEMBERANCE
On November 3rd, 2024 the Ukrainian National Women's League of America (UNWLA) Branch 147 in Austin and San Antonio will host a memorial event to commemorate the victims of the Holodomor, the man-made famine that ravaged Ukraine in 1932-1933, resulting in the deaths of over 7 million innocent people.
Featuring works from two talented Ukrainian-born artists: Iana Nikutina, an Austin-based painter, and Iryna Lischchynska, a 3D artist with Ukrainian roots. In addition to the art exhibition, renowned singer Oleksandra Pelitu will perform during a commemorative ceremony at the Texas State Capitol in Austin. The ceremony will take place on November 3rd, 2024, at 12 pm and will offer a solemn reflection on the millions of lives lost during the Holodomor.
