Join us at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at The Highlands Ranch LDS Stake Center, 9800 Foothills Canyon Blvd #B, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129 for a presentation of “Using Autosomal DNA to Find an Unknown Ancestor,” by professional genealogist Greg Liverman, PhD. Greg will present a case study on how autosomal DNA, which reflects both maternal and paternal lineages, was used to find an unknown ancestor.
Greg Liverman, Ph.D., has become adept at using online resources for both domestic and foreign research. He has researched his family history "on the ground" in libraries, cemeteries, and records offices in seven states, with more on the list to visit. He has experience in using various techniques, based on the careful application of reason and logic, to successfully break down “brick walls”. He added genetic genealogy or DNA testing to his brick wall demolition toolkit in 2013 and has immersed himself in the details of DNA tests and evaluation methods ever since.
Arrive early at 6:30 p.m. for networking with fellow genealogists. You never know who might have an answer to your most perplexing research problem.
Also, if you would like help using FamilySearch and the many other resources of the Highlands Ranch FamilySearch Center for your genealogical research, FamilySearch experts will be available starting at 6 p.m., for anyone wanting to use them.
We invite you to continue the genealogical conversation after the meeting over libations at Old Chicago, 1489 Park Central Dr, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129.
