Highlands Ranch Genealogical Society October 2024 Program: Effective Searches on FamilySearch.org
Join us at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at The Highlands Ranch LDS Stake Center, 9800 Foothills Canyon Blvd #B, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129 for a presentation of the RootsTech 2024 video “Where Did You Find That: Effective Searches on FamilySearch.org," by Debbie Gurtler, Assistant Director of the FamilySearch Library.
We will be viewing this RootsTech 2024 video at the LDS Stake Center and will pause the video as needed and go to FamilySearch to try the tips ourselves. Kevin Cope, director of the FamilySearch Center will have their computers available. Even seasoned users will learn something new.
Deborah Gurtler has been involved in family history research for over 30 years. She graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Genealogy and Family History. She is an expert at deciphering difficult documents in English, Spanish, Latin, and Italian. Debbie resided in and taught genealogical classes in Chile and Peru, as well as in genealogical conferences in the United States. She loves researching Southern U.S. families and enjoys pursuing probate, land records, and tax lists.
Arrive early at 6:30 p.m. for networking with fellow genealogists. You never know who might have an answer to your most perplexing research problem.
Also, if you would like help using FamilySearch and the many other resources of the Highlands Ranch FamilySearch Center for your genealogical research, Kevin Cope, the Center Director, will again be available starting at six p.m. to assist anyone who comes at that time.
