Highlands Ranch Genealogical Society May 2026 Program: The War of 1812 and Pension Records
Join us at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the Highlands Ranch LDS Stake Center, 9800 Foothills Canyon Blvd. #B, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129, for a presentation of “The War of 1812 and Pension Records” by genealogist and researcher Sandy Carter Duff.
If you have ancestors who lived in the early 1800’s, pension files for the War of 1812 may be a critical resource for your research. In addition to service details for soldiers who served, these records may include accounts of their war experiences, personal details about the soldiers or their widows, and supporting evidence like Bible and birth records and statements from relatives or neighbors.
Sandy Carter-Duff is known for her expertise researching War of 1812 pension files and military records. Her work often involves helping researchers navigate the 7.2 million records associated with War of 1812 pensions.
