Highlands Ranch Genealogical Society April 2025 Program: Military Genealogy Online
Join us at 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at The Highlands Ranch LDS Stake Center, 9800 Foothills Canyon Blvd #B, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129 for a presentation of "Military Genealogy Online: From the Revolutionary War to Today,” by professional genealogist and librarian Tina Beaird.
Each year new military record collections become available online. Tina will show you where to look and what types of records are available for tracing your ancestor’s military service. She will discuss records from the American Revolution to World War II as well as sources for modern records.
Tina Beaird, owner of Tamarack Genealogy, is the genealogy & local history librarian at a mid-sized Chicagoland public library. She holds a Master of Library and Information Science degree with a specialization in Archives/Preservation from Dominican University in River Forest, IL. Tina has won multiple research and digitization grants over the years to preserve and digitize historic documents and photographs. She lectures nationally on topics including genealogical methodology, military records, Scottish research, plus photo and archival preservation. Tina has assisted researchers for over 20 years, and occasionally still finds time to conduct her own family research, which she has been pursuing for over thirty years.
Tina is the First Vice-President of the Illinois State Genealogical Society, and board director for the Oswegoland Heritage Association. She is also an active member of the American Library Association and the Society of American Archivists. She volunteers her time, when available, with several Chicagoland historical and genealogical societies.
Arrive early at 6:30 p.m. for networking with fellow genealogists. You never know who might have an answer to your most perplexing research problem.
Also, Family Search computers will be available starting at 6 p.m., for anyone wanting to use them.
