High School Jazz Festival
As part of our commitment to our youth in jazz, the Jazz Club of Sarasota is again sponsoring the Annual High School Jazz Festival. The event is open to all schools in Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte and DeSoto counties and takes place on February 3 at the Riverview HS Performing Arts Auditorium beginning at 10:00 am. The HS festival is free and open to the general public, and we enthusiastically invite all to come and enjoy the music. Attendees may come and go anytime between 10 :00 am and the conclusion, later in the afternoon. All participating bands receive a monetary donation from the Club and the band judged to be best overall receives an invitation to perform at the opening event of the Sarasota Jazz Festival “Jazz in the Park” on March 17. Come out, enjoy the music and support our young musicians.
