Heart of the Golden West: A Celebration of Music from and about San Francisco
Our program includes the world premiere of Cobra, a new piece composed by our Composer-in-Residence, Mattea Williams, who you can read more about here. It will feature the San Francisco premiere of Awakening, by Roger Zare also from our Black, Indigenous, Person of Color (BIPOC) Commission Program.
Several pieces in the program are long-lost treasures that have been brought back to life by the efforts of music historians and premiered by the Band.
