Haus Obscura Opens with Heather Slingerland’s Mom-i
East Austin’s new art gallery and museum quality print shop, Haus Obscura, opens October 17 with Mom-i, an intimate exploration of memory and identity by Austin-based photographer Heather Slingerland. Photos from the project have been featured in The Washington Post. The exhibition pairs staged photographs with a quilt pieced from her mother’s unfinished squares and costumes from memory re-stagings, weaving absence, inheritance, and imagination into uneasy proximity.
