March 11 | 8pm Harris Theatre at George Mason University Christopher Zimmerman, conductor John Murton, assistant conductor PROGRAM Charles Ives: Country Band March Joaquín Rodrigo: Concierto de Aranjuez Jason Vieaux, guitar Jacques Ibert: Divertissement Sylvie Bodorová: Bruromano (U.S. Premiere) Jason Vieaux, guitar and Aaron Clay, double bass Jason Vieaux is “...virtuosic, flamboyant, dashing and, sometimes ineffably lyrical." — The New York Times Grammy-winner Jason Vieaux, “among the elite of today’s classical guitarists” (Gramophone), is described by NPR as “perhaps the most precise and soulful classical guitarist of his generation”. He joins us to perform Rodrigo’s famous Concierto de Aranjuez. Vieaux also joins Aaron Clay, FSO principal bassist and member of “The President’s Own” United States Marine Band for the U.S. Premiere of a new work by composer Sylvie Bodorová.
