The Woman’s Club of Albany and the Book House of Stuyvesant Plaza will host the “Good Books for Good Works” event from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Book House. In its 18th year, the event supports Capital Region urban and rural school libraries by raising funds for new books. A percentage of sales during the evening will be donated to the library of the Delaware Community School on Bertha Street. The event is open to the public.
The highlight of the evening begins at 5:30 p.m. when Book House staff members discuss their suggestions for both children’s and adults’ books. Lively and insightful, the staff presentations feature all genres for all ages.
The project is one of many community-oriented programs sponsored by The Woman’s Club of Albany, a philanthropic and civic organization founded in 1910. Our long-standing partnership with the Book House of Stuyvesant Plaza is an important part of our efforts to support literacy in area schools.
