Gobs O’Phun 31-derful Years Annual St. Pat’s Concert and CD Release
Gobs O'Phun has been “County Denver’s” quintessential Irish pub band for 31-derful years. They perform traditional folksongs from Ireland and Scotland, and gobs of fun is exactly what audiences have as they enjoy the music. Gobs O'Phun doesn’t play jigs and reels, bagpipes or instrumental music. Their gift is storytelling songs rich in harmony and content. The flavor may be Celtic, but the lyrics tell stories that are appreciated by all cultural backgrounds. Denis Sullivan brings the Irish heritage and his brother-in-law Martin Lambuth adds the Scottish roots. Their songs are cleverly wrapped in a presentation of harmonies, emotional background stories, historical relevance and a healthy dose of humor. The Gobs are entertaining and engaging as they spontaneously interact with the audience – inciting laughter, sing-alongs, clapping and wholesome, good-natured camaraderie – making their audience feel like they’re part of the clan sitting round the family living room.
