GMU's Visiting Filmmakers Series: LFG
Join us for a free screening of the 2021 sports documentary, LFG, followed by a discussion with producer Abby Greensfelder and Oscar-winning writer-directors Sean Fine and Andrea Nix-Fine.
Three months before the 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup, the players filed a class-action gender discrimination lawsuit against the U.S. Soccer Federation. LFG grants viewers unprecedented access to the players as they meet the challenges of being brilliant athletes as well as inspiring leaders for social change. Interviewees include Megan Rapinoe, Jessica McDonald, Becky Sauerbrunn, Kelley O'Hara, and Sam Mewis: they share their experiences at the center of the biggest fight for women's rights since Title IX.
