Meet Glenda Hares during our Wine & Hors d’oeuvre Opening Reception on Saturday, October 19th from 5 – 7pm. “Painting is a journey without a map. The longer I paint the more eager I am to explore the side roads and wandering paths, following wherever color leads me. It’s become truly about the process – endlessly intriguing and full of surprises. I have reached a point in my life where I can fearlessly destroy what I have done and do it all over and then over again. What ever the destination, it is all about color. Painting for me starts and ends with the exploration of color.” Her work in Still-lifes, Impressionistic Landscapes and Seascapes continues to evolve and delight. Glenda's work in acrylic showcases a lively and colorful style that is uniquely her own, reflecting the joy and beauty she so obviously finds in nature. Glenda is an advanced colorist, adept in the use of highly intricate passages of color. Her compositions lure the eye to interesting arrays of shapes with a rare ability and forceful use of colored line for emphasis. Her negative space commands attention equal to the positive space, enhancing the focal point of each painting. One can almost smell the essence of these simple pleasures as they tantalize the senses, smite the heart, enchant the mind, and mesmerize the memory. Glenda is a regionally recognized artist who has won numerous awards. Her watercolor and acrylic works are included in many private and corporate collections.
