Garden After Hours: Summer Solstice
It’s the longest day of the year! Grab a friend, grab a date and celebrate with music, themed drinks and a talk on the Solstice by the Naperville Astronomical Association.

- Explain how the Sun delivers light and warmth from 93 million miles away that our plants need to grow
- Show how we can view parts of this process using safely-filtered solar telescopes
- Talk about a recurrent nova that’s expected to erupt to naked-eye visibility between now and September in a constellation called The Northern Crown
He’ll bring a couple of solar scopes to safely view the sun, weather permitting.
The famous Cousins Maine Lobster truck will be onsite with their delicious lobster rolls, tacos, whoopee pies and quesadillas.
